NEWS FLASH: Restaurant is permanently closed due to lease expiration! I will say though, they had some of the best thai food around and the absolute best Champagne Mojito. I know it sounds whack but it was amazing! For a while it was on their drink menu but it suddenly got removed and you had to order it by name thereafter. Now I'll have to start making my own Champagne Mojito's!

Lemongrass has been a staple of Downtown Macon cuisine almost since its' opening day. I recently visited on a trip back to Macon, and was pleased to find the quality of the food, service, and beverages is still magnificent. There have been fluctuations over the years, but this past weekend things seemed to be top notch. The curry was delightful and the rotating beer selection was very nice. I was also pleased to notice that a few small decor items have been updated... though they still have the same light fixtures that I personally find rather obnoxious .. but that is a small gripe :)

Server is a nice looking college age girl, but didn't know how to sell the menu. I asked about most popular dishes and she tried to start describing the characteristics of Thai food. The soup ($5) was a little too watery and not many mushrooms - no other veggies at all. Only 1 small piece of ginger and a couple shreds of lemongrass. Plenty of chicken but the chunks were too big to eat in a bite. The chicken in both dishes (khee mao/drunken noodles and tom kai gai) was tough and chewy. One small speaker blares loud music from the corner too. Hurts the atmosphere. Overall not a good value. I won't be coming back unless they drop their prices (which aren't terrible) or someone I trust gives them a better review.

Beautiful space, friendly staff and yummy food. I wish they had a child seat available so we could come here without getting a sitter. One of my favorite dinner spots in downtown.

I went here at 1pm on Saturday. First off they couldn't make the drinks we had ordered. They blamed the staff from the night before for not getting the mixes ready. They had been open an hour, wouldn't they check that? When I finally found a drink they could make, they forgot to salt the rim. While they fixed that, they brought me a glass with animal hair, cat or dog by the look, on the glass. When they started bringing out the food and moving stuff on the table to make room, I noticed a big smear of something like peanut butter across the middle of the table. To top it all off this was on my birthday and my wife had picked the place, so she felt bad for picking such a crappy place. But wait it get's better. I complained. They won't respond. Not even to acknowledge my complaint or to say sorry. Needless to say, I highly DO NOT recommend this place.
